Dr. Yonaira Cortes is a board-certified specialist in veterinary emergency and critical care who provides advanced, compassionate care to pets facing life-threatening illness or injury. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Cortes completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center in New York and a residency in Emergency and Critical Care at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
Her professional interests include metabolic emergencies, polytrauma, and pain management, with a strong focus on stabilizing critically ill patients and supporting families through difficult moments. Dr. Cortes takes pride in combining advanced medical expertise with empathy and clear communication, ensuring that each pet receives the highest level of care and comfort.
