Dr. Allison Belaunde earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Rutgers University–New Brunswick and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Western University. She chose veterinary medicine to combine her love for animals with her passion for science, compassion, and service. Throughout her journey, Dr. Belaunde has been dedicated to caring for diverse communities, advocating for inclusion, and building meaningful connections with both patients and their families.
Dr. Belaunde has special interests in oncology and zoological medicine and is passionate about continuing to learn and grow as a veterinarian while providing compassionate, high-quality care.
Outside of work, Dr. Belaunde enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new restaurants and destinations, hiking, traveling, and watching anime and indie animations. She is also a fan of Broadway musicals and expressive storytelling through music and performance. At home, she shares her life with Sophie, her beloved 5-year-old Domestic Long Hair cat, whose name was inspired by Howl’s Moving Castle. Sophie has been by her side throughout veterinary school and serves as a daily reminder of why she loves caring for animals.
