Nour Mays

DVM
Veterinary Intern (2025-2026)

Dr. Mays has always wanted to be a veterinarian since childhood. Growing up on a farm in rural New Jersey, he loved caring for animals. Dr. Mays began volunteering at shelters and general practices at the age of 13. He then worked his way up to becoming an emergency veterinary technician in Florida for two years. Throughout vet school, he continued working as an ER and anatomy lab technician. After attending The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, he focused on Public Health for a little while. In which he completed a thesis in Ecuador measuring primary drinking water sources for E. coli contamination using WHO guidelines, assessing water safety, and reporting results to residents. After that, he worked as a surgeon and general practitioner at a high-volume, low-income spay and neuter facility in Columbus, Ohio.

Dr. Mays enjoys making a difference while doing what he loves. He is especially passionate about emergency medicine—he thrives on stabilizing acute cases and supporting clients during stressful and emotional times. He values the client-patient-veterinarian relationship and enjoys guiding pet owners through challenging situations with compassion and clarity. Discharging a patient to a relieved and grateful owner is one of the most rewarding parts of his job.

In Dr. Mays’ free time, he enjoys running and hiking. He also loves spending quality time with his 2-year-old niece and nephew. In addition, he loves traveling and discovering new cultures, especially the food! His favorite food is seafood.
