Anthony Palminteri, DVM, Diplomate, ACVS – Board of Directors

Dr. Palminteri received his degree in veterinary medicine from Cornell University. He is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. He was elected “distinguished practitioner” in the National Academy of Practitioners. Dr. Palminteri is co-founder of the Oradell Animal Hospital, and remains on staff as a consultant. His ancillary interests are Jiu-Jitsu (8th degree black belt), offshore fishing, and landscaping.

William Stockman, VMD – Board of Directors

Dr. Stockman graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. He completed an internship followed by a surgical residency at the ASPCA hospital in New York City. Dr. Stockman is one of the founders of the Oradell Animal Hospital, and remains on staff as a consultant. Dr. Stockman enjoys boating, fishing, scuba diving and underwater photography.

Paul Gambardella, VMD, Diplomate ACVS – Hospital Director

Dr. Gambardella graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine. He completed an internship, surgical residency, and received a master’s degree in surgery at the University of Minnesota. He is board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. He has published and lectured extensively in orthopedic surgery. Dr. Gambardella was appointed to the staff of the Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston and held the following positions: Staff Surgeon, Director of Surgery, and Chief of Staff. He was Associate Professor of Surgery and Head of the Section of Small Animal Surgery at Tufts University from 1981-1985, and Clinical Professor of Surgery at Tufts University from 1989-2001. He is past President of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and the New England Veterinary Medical Association. He received the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) Outstanding Service Award-Region 1 in 1986 and the AAHA Veterinarian of the Year-Fido Award in 1998. Dr. Gambardella was appointed Hospital Director at Oradell Animal Hospital in February 2002. Paul and his wife, Susan, raised 3 boys and enjoy water skiing, snow skiing, traveling, their grandchildren, and their dog, Gracie.

John G. DeVries, DVM, Diplomate, ABVP (Canine/Feline) – Assistant Hospital Director

Dr. DeVries graduated from The University of Illinois, completed an internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York, and is board certified by the American Board of Veterinary Practicitioners. As Assistant Director of Oradell Animal Hospital, Dr. DeVries sees clients at both Oradell Animal Hospital and our Hasbrouck Heights office. His interests include practicing medicine and surgery and in his spare time he enjoys choral singing, traveling and spending time with his wife Susi, their children, and their grandchildren. Dr. DeVries and Susi share their home with their Australian Shepherd, Molly and their three cats Indi, Charlotte, and Lily.

Alison Maglio, Hospital Administrator – Hospital Administrator

Alison is responsible for managerial functions that encompass most areas of the hospital. She is a graduate of Seton Hall University with a concentration in psychology and business management, and has been serving as hospital administrator for 20 years. She works closely with the hospital director and assistant director to achieve the hospital’s mission and ensure exceptional customer service. Alison handles all billing and client related financial matters.

Nancy Miles, – Director of Staff Development

Nancy’s responsibilities include mentoring staff members on supervisory and leadership skills and overseeing the client services, purchasing and marketing departments. Nancy also works with local veterinarians to ensure a smooth process when referring clients to the hospital.

Heidi Petri, – Controller

Heidi is responsible for the keeping of all financial records associated with the corporation and its business, including receipts, disbursements, general ledger, cash management and payroll.

Christine Banks, – Human Resources

Christine is responsible for managing most matters pertaining to all employees including recruitment, orientation, contract preparation, and employee benefits.

Lisa Davis, – Marketing and Public Relations

Lisa is responsible for all marketing efforts of Oradell Animal Hospital, Hasbrouck Heights and Fort Lee offices. Her responsibilities include website design and maintenance, design and distribution of collateral materials, and public relations and communications.

John Halpin, – Purchasing Agent

As a member of Oradell Animal Hospital’s health care team, John’s primary function is to purchase all equipment and supplies for the hospital and its satellite clinics in Hasbrouck Heights and Fort Lee, New Jersey. John is responsible for all hospital inventories by selecting and maintaining efficient sources of supply and creating good relationships with vendors. He supervises personnel assigned to assist with the receiving, stocking, distribution, and security of equipment and supplies purchased for hospital use.

Karen Critchley-Capone, RVT – Patient Services Manager

Karen is a graduate of the Bergen Community College, Veterinary Technician Program. She has an associate degree in Applied Science. She joined Oradell Animal Hospital in 2003 as a veterinary assistant. Over the next few years she became a supervisor, and then moved to her current position as the Patient Services Manager. As Manager, Karen oversees all of the technical support staff in the following departments: emergency, critical care, dental, surgery, radiology/MRI, medicine, cardiology, rehabilitation/cold laser, step down wards and instruments. Karen has been an intricate part in the development of the Oradell Animal Hospital CARES program (a palliative care program) and the employee Spirit Committee, a team building committee that instills better communication and team work among all departments. Karen’s main interest is in surgery and anesthesia. Karen enjoys reading, the beach, time with her family and any outdoor activity.

Sue Kolkka, AAS,LVT,VTS (Clinical Pathology) – Fort Lee – Oradell Veterinary Clinic Manager

Sue Kolkka has been an employee of the Oradell Animal Hospital for 22 years. Her experience as a licensed veterinary technician spans several departments in our hospital including both clinic services and client services. In her most recent position prior to becoming manager of our Fort Lee clinic, Sue functioned as a team leader in our Paramus office responsible for training all exam room technicians and assistants on hospital protocols, procedures and techniques. Sue lives in Mahwah, NJ with her husband, two children, and her dog Honey and her cat Cocoa.

Liz McKnight, B.S., C.V.T. – Clinic Services Manager

Liz McKnight graduated from Cook College at Rutgers University in 1983 with a B.S. in Animal Science, and earned her CVT status after passing the Veterinary Technician National Exam in 1999. Liz has worked at the Oradell Animal Hospital for over 25 years, where she has been involved in all aspects of animal care, including patient treatment and nursing, surgery, dentistry, and radiology. Over the years, her role expanded to include equipment maintenance, surgical instrumentation, assisting with chemotherapy treatments, and supervising the technical support staff. Since 1997, Liz has been the manager of the Clinic Services department, which includes the outpatient clinic, the laboratory, the dispensing pharmacy, the oncology team, and client education services. She has always had a special interest in pet nutrition as well. Liz enjoys reading and being outdoors, hiking, gardening, and birding.

Mary Peluso, – Hasbrouck Heights-Oradell Veterinary Clinic Manager

Mary Peluso came to Oradell Animal Hospital as manager of the Hasbrouck Heights office after working 13 years at Cresskill Animal Hospital. Her responsibilities include overseeing client services, purchasing, and staffing and ensuring exceptional customer service. Mary resides in Waldwick with her husband, two children, two dogs, Rebel and Bravo and her six cats. Mary loves vacationing with her family at the beach.
