Career Opportunities

Clinic Services - Veterinary Assistant/Technician

Prerequisite: Experience in the veterinary field is preferred for this position.

The Clinic Services Assistants and Technicians provide help for the doctors during outpatient office visits by restraining patients, giving outpatient treatments and medications, and assisting with or performing phlebotomy.  They are essential to client education (teaching people how to give injections, fluids, or other treatments to their pets at home), as well as client counseling on topics such as diabetes, feeding tubes, kidney disease, heartworm and flea medications, and prescription diets, among others.  Clinic Services assistants are responsible for the maintenance and inventory of the exam rooms and Pod treatment area, and also aid the front office personnel and hospital technicians when needed.  Must be able to lift 30 to 50 pounds without assistance.

 

Available Hours:

– Full Time – including Saturdays

– Part Time – including Saturdays

Clinic Services - Pharmacy Assistant/Technician

Prerequisite: Experience in the pharmacy field is preferred for this position, but not required.

The Clinic Services Pharmacy Technicians provide high quality service to clients and patients during their clinic visits, and when medication refills are needed.  They prepare medications under the direction and supervision of the veterinarians, provide client education by explaining medications and giving instructions, maintain pharmacy equipment and inventory in both the dispensing pharmacy and the in-house pharmacy, and assist Client Services and Patient Services personnel when needed for smooth and efficient hospital service.

 

Available Hours:

– Full Time: Tuesdays-Fridays 1p-10p, Saturday 9a-6p plus Sunday rotation every 4 to 6 weeks.

 

Salary: Commensurate with experience and educaitonal background

Veterinary Assistant/Technician - Internal Medicine

Prerequisite: Experienced technicians are preferred for these positions

The Internal Medicine Assistants and technicians provide help for the doctors during outpatient office visits by restraining patients, giving outpatient treatments and medications, and assisting with or performing phlebotomy.  They are essential to client education (teaching people how to give injections, fluids, or other treatments to their pets at home), as well as client counseling on topics such as diabetes, feeding tubes, and kidney disease, among others.  Internal Medicine assistants/technicians also provide help during morning rounds for inpatient exams and treatments, diagnostic procedures such as ultrasounds (and occasionally procedures involving general anesthesia such as endoscopies), and patient discharges. They are responsible for assisting with the maintenance and inventory of the exam rooms and Pod treatment area, as well as the ultrasound and endoscopy rooms.  They also aid the front office personnel and hospital technicians when needed.   Must be able to lift 30 to 50 pounds without assistance.

Full Time: Monday – Thursday 7:30-6:30

Full Time: Wednesday – Saturday 7:30-6:30

Veterinary Technician - Dermatology

Prerequisite: Credentialed technician is preferred, but not required for this position. Experienced non-credentialed veterinary technicians may be considered.

The dermatology technician is responsible for helping the doctor with day-to-day requirements of the dermatology clinic, which include the following:  cytology –  collecting, staining, and interpreting ear swabs, tape preps, impression smears, trichograms, and skin scrapes; allergen specific immunotherapy (ASIT or “allergy shots”) – maintaining ASIT records, ordering supplies, and filling patient prescriptions; and procedures – assisting with skin biopsies, intradermal skin tests, video-otoscopy, sedation, and occasionally general anesthesia. Responsibilities may also include assisting in the outpatient clinic with general practice and specialist appointments, daily tasks, and client education. Must be able to lift 30 to 50 pounds without assistance.

Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 7:30AM – 5PM, Thursday 1PM – 8PM

Veterinary Technician - Oncology

Prerequisite: Credentialed technicians are required for this position; Associate’s Degree or higher is encouraged.

The Oncology Technician assists the oncologists with daily rounds and clinic appointments, coordinates and handles chemotherapy treatments (including calculating dosages, preparation and administration of chemotherapeutic agents, and post-treatment monitoring), and assists the oncologists with diagnostic procedures (some requiring sedation, and occasionally general anesthesia). The oncology technician also assists with client communication regarding in-hospital and outpatient cases, helps with all facets of paperwork, including treatment records and requisitions, and schedules outpatient and admission appointments.  Responsibilities also include stocking supplies and maintaining the work area (chemo treatment room, hood, etc.), and completing any additional tasks or duties that may be assigned as needed by the Clinic Services Manager or Supervisors.  The oncology technician works closely with the veterinary staff, as well as Client Services, Clinic Services and other Patient Services staff members when needed. Must be able to lift 30 to 50 pounds without assistance.

Veterinary Technician - Emergency & Critical Care

Prerequisite: Licensing and/or certification is required for this position

As an Oradell Animal Hospital technician you will utilize your knowledge and skills in a way that is exciting and rewarding. We see hundreds of general, referral and emergency cases daily, offering our technicians the opportunity to gain the experience necessary to become a credentialed Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) in various specialties.

Emergency Veterinarian

We are currently seeking applicants for an emergency medicine veterinarian to join our team.  Come join a progressive group of veterinarians and an exceptional team of technicians where our goal is to provide the highest quality patient care and client service.  We provide an environment that promotes learning and teaching opportunities through case collaboration, intern and resident training, and continuing education.

Candidates must have completed an internship in small animal medicine.  Qualified applicants are expected to be highly motivated and able to participate in our team setting.

Client Services Representative

Seeking pleasant, experienced, customer service oriented team players to join our team! The client services department facilitates the client visit starting with phone calls to make appointments, checking clients and their pets in upon arrival, followed by the checkout process when the visit is complete. These positions are “people positions” requiring strong interpersonal skills as there is very little animal contact involved. Veterinary/medical experience is a plus in addition to having a minimum of three years of customer service experience. Employment drug screening is required and all employees work at least 16 hours of holiday time throughout the year.  Excellent benefit package.

Full-time and part-time positions are available ranging from 24-40 hours per week.
