 Nutrition Assistant 

The nutritionist’s assistant will be responsible for helping the doctor with day-to-day requirements of the nutrition clinic, which include the following: preparing for upcoming consultations by obtaining and reviewing diet histories and referral records, assisting in office visits, helping doctors and clients to coordinate appointments with the nutrition service, client communication and patient follow-up phone calls, helping to manage and maintain the food preparation room and nutrition library, calculating energy requirements for in- and outpatients, conducting weight loss follow-up clinic appointments, and acting as a resource for staff and doctors.  Responsibilities on Thursdays and Fridays will also include assisting in the outpatient clinic with general practice and specialist appointments, daily tasks, and client education.

Certified or licensed veterinary technician preferred (will consider an individual with 2 or more years of veterinary technician experience, with reliable math and computer skills) 

Hours: A full time, 4 day per week schedule.*

Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Fridays 10 – 8, *and one Saturday per month.  Thursday and Friday hours split between nutrition and outpatient clinic.

Oncology Technician or High-level Assistant Wanted!

The Oncology Clinic Technician/Assistant works closely with the veterinary staff and veterinary support staff.  This person will be assisting with chemotherapy treatments, daily rounds, clinic appointments, and client communication.  He/She is responsible for stocking supplies and maintaining the working area including exam rooms.

Credentialed veterinary technician preferred, but not required.  Strong Interest in oncology required and prior experience is preferred.  Excellent communication skills is required and restraint and handling skills of both dogs and cats required.

Client Services Representatives Wanted!

Seeking pleasant, experienced, customer service oriented team players to join our team! The client services department facilitates the client visit starting with phone calls to make appointments, checking clients and their pets in upon arrival, followed by the checkout process when the visit is complete. These positions are “people positions” requiring strong interpersonal skills as there is very little animal contact involved. Veterinary/medical experience is a plus in addition to having a minimum of three years of customer service experience. Employment drug screening is required and all employees work at least 16 hours of holiday time throughout the year.  Excellent benefit package.

We are currently looking to fill evening, weekend and overnight positions.  Full-time and part-time positions are available ranging from 24-40 hours per week


Veterinary Technicians and Assistant’s Wanted!

Our hospital is currently seeking full time veterinary technicians/assistants to work in the following areas: Dermatology, Internal Medicine/Cardiology, Surgery/Anesthesia, Nutrition, CT/MRI/Radiology and Emergency Critical Care overnight.  All candidates should have experience and/or interest in the position they are applying for along with the prerequisites listed below under veterinary technician or veterinary assistant.

Veterinary Technician

Prerequisite: Licensing and/or certification is required for this position.

Veterinary Technicians may have the opportunity to work in any one of our departments (emergency/critical care, radiology, dentistry, and others.) As an Oradell Animal Hospital technician you will utilize your knowledge and skills in a way that is exciting and rewarding. We see hundreds of general, referral and emergency cases daily offering our technicians the opportunity to gain the credentials necessary to become a Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) in Emergency and Critical Care, Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine or Dentistry.

Veterinary Assistant Prerequisite: Experience in the veterinary field is required for this position.

Veterinary Assistants provide nursing care for patients in all areas of our hospital. They also help doctors and technicians by setting up for and assisting with various procedures. Many of our employees with experience start at or are promoted to this level while completing their education in the field.

Ward Aide Prerequisite: This is an entry level position for those with limited experience and a genuine interest in caring for animals.

Ward Aides care for our patients by walking, feeding and bathing as well as providing general maintenance of the patient areas. They are also trained to utilize basic restraint techniques and assist veterinarians, veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants in providing the best care possible for our patients.

Animal Attendant Prerequisite: This is an entry level position for high school students who are of working age. .

Animal Attendants care for our patients by providing general maintenance of the patient areas as well as assisting in walking, feeding and basic kennel work. They are also trained to utilize basic restraint techniques and assist veterinarians, veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants in providing the best care possible for our patients. This position requires the student to work year-round, including one weekend day and one week day after school minimum.

Clinic Services Assistant Prerequisite: Experience in the veterinary field is preferred for this position.

The Clinic Services department includes the outpatient pharmacy, the lab, and the “pods”, which are centralized treatment areas surrounded by exam rooms. The Clinic Services assistants support the veterinarians during outpatient office visits, dispense medications from the pharmacy, process requests and run laboratory tests. They teach clients how to give injections and fluids to their pets for home care. Clinic Service assistants are responsible for the maintenance and inventory of the exam room, pharmacy and laboratory supplies and support other departments when needed. They play an integral role in educating clients on topics such as diabetes, kidney disease, heartworm, prescription diets and feeding tubes.
