Dr. Heather Troyer, who leads the Oradell Animal Hospital CARES Program (hospice and palliative care), was recently certified in animal Tui Na. During a recent CARES team meeting she demonstrated these techniques for the CARES staff. Tui Na is a form of traditional Chinese massage and it is often used in conjunction with acupressure or acupuncture. Some techniques involve rolling, kneading, pressing and rubbing. This type of massage can help with musculoskeletal issues, digestive disorders, help relieve pain relief as well as improving circulation. Our team members brought in their own pets to help with the demonstrations.
